When a husband and wife team who love entertaining put their heads together to come up with new ways to add flavour to their meals, the result was Raka Spice Rubs. They spent three years, meticulous developing, testing and tasting collections of all-natural spices. The idea was to come up with a way of enhancing flavours of foods when using a gas fire, when a roaring campfire or fire pit was not available. Fans of the brand love that they can turn out extraordinary dishes with all the aromas and pizzazz of open fire cooking, at their stove top or on a gas barbie.

Raka Spice Rubs

Each of the following spice rubs can be used as a seasoning, a dry rub or a marinade (blend with a little oil or coconut oil). Available in 65g jars.

• Kiwi Barbecue – Do away with complicated sauces and use this tasty spice rub instead. Try it with chicken, turkey and seafood. Make a dipping sauce of mayonnaise with plenty of Kiwi Barbecue blended through and enjoy with freshly peeled prawns.
• Luscious Lamb – Lamb’s best friend! Luscious Lamb will add a distinctive flavour to your lamb roast, barbecued chops or slow cooked stew. You can also use it as a seasoning for potato wedges or roast potatoes.
• Butchers Bro – Spicy for a top aroma and warmth as well as flavour. Pair it with beef steaks, pork ribs or a roast ham. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that will deliver absolute barbecue perfection. Smoke or slow roast your meat joints with a good shake of Butchers Bro.
• Devine Design – An aromatic rub that will send mouth-watering aromas wafting through the air. Not only is it fabulous for beef, poultry and lamb, it even works beautifully on tofu and roasted vegetables. Sprinkle a little over roasted kumara.
