J. Friend & Co Artisan Honey

Quite like fine wines, the subtle – and sometimes not so subtle – nuances of aroma and flavour found in honey can be emotive and fascinating. That’s how it was for Sharyn Woodnorth and Jeremy Friend when, on a road trip, they discovered great variances in the honeys they tasted from roadside beekeepers’ stalls.

They wanted to create a business that would offer pure, natural honeys that weren’t compromised by pasteurising and creaming methods, stripping all the goodness and regional distinctiveness away. They were eager to restore dignity to honey as something beyond a generic condiment.

Sharyn and Jeremy work with specially selected beekeepers and have achieved organic certification which has afforded them a niche point of view. The company is committed to reducing its negative impact on the environment and has become part of the carboNZerocert certification program.

The J. Friend and Co range features award winning, artisanal honeys that offer something more than just incredible flavour. They have wonderful properties that aid in health and wellbeing.
